HOW SAFENET WORKS
SafeNet puts each website into a category which can be controlled by you as the parent or master user. You can add or remove specific sites that best suits your needs. For example you may decide that you want to block adult content, violence and drugs or you want to simply restrict access to social medial sites during family or homework time.
How to setup SafeNet to meet our families needs
Every family is different and so choosing what is right for you will depend on what your goals are for your family. There are manay options available from ‘Safe search’ which blocks adult content but allows access to everything else, to a restriction on a number of categories or specific sites. You can also choose alternate schedules that will only allow selected sites during homework time. Some parents find it difficult getting their kids to switch off at bed time so scheduling downtime is a great way to manage late night screen time.
How do I get SafeNet and how much does it cost?
SafeNet can be purchased with any of our regional data plans when joining Rural Wireless or as an addon service. For residential homes there is a cost of $5.00 which will be added to your broadband account each month. There are no setup costs, no equipment to purchase. and you have full access to your own account through our “Customer Access’ web portal.
